The German Diabetes Center (DDZ), Leibniz Institute for Diabetes Research at the Heinrich Heine University (HHU) Düsseldorf is an interdisciplinary research institute that links basic and clinical sciences to improve prevention, diagnosis and therapy of Diabetes mellitus and its complications. The Institute for Vascular and Islet Cell Biology (IVI) investigates basic mechanisms of beta cell failure and diabetic complications affecting liver, cardiovascular system and peripheral nervous system.

Prof. Lammert’s research group “Islet Cell Research” is looking for a highly motivated

Postdoctoral Researcher (f/m/d)

for a full-time (100%) TV-L E13 compensated position in the field of vascular and hepatic research.

Ihr Aufgabengebiet umfasst

Your tasks

  • Perform experimental research on the interaction between liver sinusoidal endothelial cells and hepatozytes in vitro and in vivo
  • Study interaction partners of myeloid-derived growth factor in primary human hepatocytes
  • Contribute to writing scientific papers and grant applications
  • Participate in the “Liver Academy” at the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD e.V.)
  • Participate in the CRC initiative “Carddiab”

Wir erwarten von Ihnen

Your profile

  • Doctoral degree/Ph.D. in Biology, or related areas
  • Strong understanding of angiocrine signaling in the liver
  • Expertise in cultivation of primary human endothelial cells and hepatocytes
  • Experimental expertise in the field of myeloid-derived growth factor and liver regeneration
  • At least, one first author publication
  • Excellent communication skills in English
  • You are a team player and keen to drive the project forward within the DDZ
