The German Diabetes Center (DDZ) the Leibniz Institute for Diabetes Research at Heinrich Heine University (HHU) in Düsseldorf was funded by the Federal Ministry of Health and Ministry of Innovation Science and Research of the State of North Rhine Westphalia. Doctoral Student (PhD/Dr. rer. nat; E13 TV-L 65%)
to join our team for working on the topic
“Elucidation of lipid-induced insulin resistance by flux analysis of diacylglycerol probes”.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Investigation of molecular mechanisms mediating lipid-induced insulin resistance
- Metabolic flux analysis by mass spectrometrical and microscopical techniques
- Method development for ‘in-vivo labelling’
- Analysis, documentation and assessment of your results
Skills & Expertise
- You hold a Master degree in Biochemistry, Biology, Molecular Biomedicine or a related field.
- Knowledge in cell culture are an advantage
- Basic knowledge in mass spectrometrical and microscopical techniques are favored but not required
- Preparation and presentation of your data in English
- You are a communicative, team-oriented person who is willing to work in an international surrounding
