
Production of histological preparations for the treatment of clinical and cell biological issues
The unit represents a technical platform of the German Diabetes-Center and is associated to the research programs A and B. For investigation of clinical and cell biology questions, histological samples are generated (human biopsies, mouse tissues), processed, and subsequently analyzed by light- and electron microscopy, respectively. The establishment and further improvement of new methods, such as ultrastructural analytical procedures with immunogold electron microscopy and quantitative morphometric analyses, expands the experimental options of the institute and may allow further integration of the research programs at the DDZ.
