Dr. Robert Wagner is an associate professor, clinician-scientist and endocrinology fellow at Tübingen University Hospital, Department of Internal Medicine 4. He studied economics and medicine in Budapest, and did part of his training in Buffalo, USA. After residency at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, he has completed his specializations in Internal Medicine in Sigmaringen and Endocrinology/Diabetology in Tübingen. He’s been involved in clinical diabetes research since 2011, and he’s been on the Faculty of the Eberhard-Karls-University Tübingen since 2017. His research interests are in understanding the main pathogenetic drivers of type 2 diabetes by disentangling the heterogeneity of the disease. To this end, he focuses on the bioinformatic exploitation of a large set of phenotypes, such as clinical variables, laboratory values and genetic data to subphenotype the disease.
