There are, however, indications that this is not being done adequately in practice. GestDiab, a joint project between the Research Institution of Practising Diabetologists (winDiab) and the Professional Association of Diabetological Specialist Practices in the North Rhine (BdSN), provides the largest register on diabetes and pregnancy in Germany.
