One focus are the long-term effects of climate-related environmental factors on the risk of diabetes and its complications.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the short-term effects of extreme weather events such as heat on people with diabetes will be investigated. Methods of descriptive epidemiology, causal inference, time series analysis, case-crossover and case-only designs will be used.
