The National Diabetes Information Center (NDC) is a staff unit of the DDZ.<\/h2>\n

The NDC informs people with diabetes, their relatives, the public, doctors, medical professionals and interested parties about topics such as early detection, prevention, diagnosis and the treatment of diabetes and its secondary diseases. National Diabetes Information Portal: diabinfo.de<\/h2>\n

To meet the growing need for information on diabetes and its sequelae, the National Diabetes Information Center (NDC) in corporation with Helmholtz Munich and the German Center for Diabetes Research (DZD) e. V.\u00a0 operates the National Diabetes Information Portal diabinfo.de<\/a>\u00a0for the general public, doctors and professionals.<\/p>\n

Answering individual inquiries about diabetes<\/h2>\n

Based on the guidelines of the German Diabetes Association (DDG) and the recommendations of international professional associations, the staff unit offers an information platform and an interactive interactive information service, where patients, interested parties and specialists can send their personal inquiries about diabetes and related topics to experts.<\/p>\n

The experts of the DDZ answer every request individually. FreizeitFit4Kids – A Program for Open Child and Youth Services<\/h2>\n

Since 2015, the DDZ, in collaboration with the City of D\u00fcsseldorf\u2019s Office for Social Affairs and Youth, has been promoting the health of children and adolescents in open child and youth work settings as part of the FreizeitFit4Kids (FF4K) program<\/a> (Link in German). The program develops health-promoting measures and preventive services to prevent lifestyle-related diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes. Together with the facilities, partners, and professionals, programs are developed that are individually tailored to each facility and the needs and requirements of the target group, with the aim of encouraging them to be more physically active, eat a balanced diet, and manage stress effectively. The focus is on promoting health literacy among socially disadvantaged children and adolescents and those at risk of poverty in neighborhoods in D\u00fcsseldorf where there is a greater need for action.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=”30″ el_class=”distance-top-small”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

D\u00fcsseldorf Diabetes Day<\/h2>\n

The D\u00fcsseldorf Diabetes Day<\/a> (Link in German) is an information event that has been held for more than 20 years for people with diabetes, their families, at-risk groups, and the interested public. The event takes place annually at the D\u00fcsseldorf Chamber of Crafts and offers visitors a wide range of presentations, information booths, and numerous activities where participants can actively promote their health and gain inspiration for their daily lives. Each year, diabetes experts present the latest developments related to diabetes mellitus in more than 25 talks. Personal accounts from people living with diabetes round out the program and provide a platform for sharing practical tips for daily life.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”20px”][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row gap=”30″ el_class=”distance-top-small”][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]<\/p>\n

DiaCup \u2013 Table Tennis Tournament for People with Diabetes and Their Families<\/h2>\n

The DiaCup<\/a> (Link in German) is a table tennis tournament for people with diabetes and their families, hosted by Borussia D\u00fcsseldorf. The focus is not only on competitive spirit, but above all on physical activity, community, and interaction within the diabetes community. Whether you play at a club or in your free time, are just starting out, or are a pro\u2014everyone is welcome at the DiaCup. Experienced diabetes counselors will be on hand during the tournament to offer support and answer questions about managing diabetes while playing sports.
\nThe tournament is organized by the NDZ in cooperation with Deutsche Diabetes-Hilfe \u2013 Menschen mit Diabetes (DDH-M) \u2013 North Rhine-Westphalia Regional Association, the Regional Network of Innovation (RIN) Diabetes, Borussia D\u00fcsseldorf, and Kathi Korn, a table tennis player with type 1 diabetes.
