Insbesondere durch die neuerlichen technischen Fortschritte in der MRT und MRS konnte der menschliche Stoffwechsel in-vivo besser verstanden werden, etwa der Glykogen-Stoffwechsel oder der ATP-Fluss in Echtzeit, die durch andere Methoden nur sehr schwer erfasst werden k\u00f6nnen. Derzeit werden die MRT und MRS als eine der m\u00e4chtigsten in-vivo Untersuchungsmethoden in der Diabetes- und Stoffwechselforschung angesehen.<\/p>\n<h3>Schwerpunkte der AG \"Metabolic Imaging\"<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Anwendung der in-vivo MRS und MRT, um zur Enth\u00fcllung der Pathogenese und der Etiologie des Diabetes und von Stoffwechselkrankheiten beizutragen, etwa den Mechanismus der Insulinresistenz<\/li>\n<li>Entwicklung neuer MR-Techniken, die dazu dienen, das Verst\u00e4ndnis von Fragen im Zusammenhang mit Diabetes und Stoffwechselkrankheiten zu vervollst\u00e4ndigen.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Im speziellen werden wir Bauch-, Muskel- und Leberfett, ATP und Glykogen in Leber und Muskel, sowie den ATP-Fluss im lebenden Gewebe in Kombination mit spezifischen physiologischen Fragestellungen untersuchen. Der \"state-of-the-art\" 3-Tesla Scanner der Firma Philips am DDZ steht f\u00fcr diese Forschung uneingeschr\u00e4nkt zur Verf\u00fcgung.
