Prof. Omry Koren<\/span>is <\/span>a<\/span>Professor at the Azrieli Faculty of <\/span>Medicine. His principle field of research is the human <\/span>microbiome. Prof. Koren received his MSc and his PhD in <\/span>Molecular Microbiology and Biotechnology from Tel<\/span>-Aviv <\/span>University in Israel. Prof. Koren subsequently accepted a <\/span>post<\/span>– doctoral position at Cornell University where he was <\/span>part of the NIH Human Microbiome Project and where he led <\/span>the first study to demonstrate that pregnancy is associated <\/span>with a profound alteration of the gut microbiota and host <\/span>metabolism. Curre<\/span>ntly his team\u2019s research aims to better <\/span>understand the interactions between microbiota and the host <\/span>endocrine system, host behaviour, and host development, in <\/span>health and in disease states.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","person":"3348177","place":"virtual -
