The Institute of Clinical Diabetology (Professor Michael Roden) at DDZ is offering a
We are looking for a talented and highly dynamic young scientist to join the Research Group of Professor Roden, which studies energy metabolism with one focus on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). The candidate is going to work in an international multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will address the mechanisms of the early development of NAFLD using cell culture, transcriptomic, and proteomic technologies. The unique concept is based on the collaborative design of the project including Sanofi as a pharmaceutical industry partner, which will be carried out in Düsseldorf, but also at the Frankfurt site of Sanofi. A three-years contract is offered.
The PhD program will involve the Medical Research School at Düsseldorf University. A close collaboration with scientists at Sanofi Diabetes Research is a key element of this project. This unique setting offers access to state-of-the-art technologies and excellent core facilities.

The position will be starting from 1st January 2019 or later. The initial contract runs for 3 years, prolongation is possible. The salary is based on qualification and experience according to the collective agreement "TV-L" in its current version for North Rhine-Westphalia.
